Congratulations to Andree Lisette Herz exhibiting at Grounds for Sculpture

AAG member, Andree Lisettte's fiber art piece , will be exhibiting in the 5th Annual Members Only Show at the Grounds for Sculpture. These are juried exhibitions open to members of Grounds for Sculpture in a variety of media. This exhibition is juried by Kelly Baum, from the Haskell Curator of Modern and Contemporary Art at the Princeton University Art Museum.  The show will run July 12-August 14, 2014 at the Education Gallery.   Grounds for Sculpture is located at 126 Sculptors Way, Hamilton Township, NJ.   The hours are Sun, Tues and Weds 10-6 PM and Thurs, Fri and Sat 10-9PM.

Lisettes fiber arts are known for their wonderful color, whimsey and fantasy.  This piece is also called Fantasy.  Come out and support our fellow artists.

Update- Lisette's Fantasy was selected as the postcard image by Grounds for Sculpture for the Members Musing Show 2014.  Congrats Lisette!

F. Lumia M.D. & D. Muzicatto Ed.D. will exhibit at the the Fidias Gallery-July 2014

This show is open to all students of Susan Winter and will run the month of July.  Susan Winters is  a "California Impressionist". She teaches at the Senior Citizens Center in Freehold and at her studio in Hightstown.  Call for gallery hours 732-431-3174.  The reception is July 12th 4-6PM.

Frank Lumia, AAG Treasurer, will have 2 oil paintings on display at Fidias Gallery, 12 Court St Freehold NJ. Yellow Rose on Black and Rose Study are very representative of Frank's distinctive painting style of flowers.


















Donna Muzzicato, AAG member, will also be exhibiting her oil painting called Aruba, painted in her dramatic style.  Come out and enjoy the show.

Congratulations to Olivia Arnone

Allentown High School has many talented artists.  One of them is Olivia Arnone, the 2014 recipient of the Allentown Art Guild Award.   Olivia is planning on studying art and photography in NYC.  Olivia will be showing some of her work in the AAG group show at Mill Pond Arts, 20 South Main Street, Allentown NJ  The opening is June 28th 12:30-3:30 PM  The show will run through July and August.  Summer Hours are Monday-Friday 11Am-7 PM, Saturday 9-2PM. Closed on Sunday.  Come and enjoy the show.

For the past 3 years AAG has awarded $500, to a graduating Allentown High School Senior, to help their studies in the visual arts. This award is open to all seniors and it is based on a digital portfolio of 3 original pieces of work that was submitted on a CD.

June 19 2014 Demonstration/lecture by artist Lisa Budd

The AAG is happy to announce that the fine artist Lisa Budd, will give a demonstration and lecture at our monthly meeting.   Lisa Budd is known for her oil and watercolor paintings of the beautiful New Jersey shore.   See more about Lisa Budd and her work at www.lisabudd.com  Because of time constraints we are requesting all participants to arrive before 7 so the lecture can begin promptly at 7 PM.  After the lecture we will have our general meeting. Looking forward to an evening of learning and sharing.

Frank Lumia M.D. has 2 paintings in the Freehold Art Society's group show at the Freehold Library

AAG member, Frank Lumia is also a member of the the Freehold Art Society. The Society is having a group show at the Freehold Library May 12th -Aug 11th 2014.  The Freehold library is located at 28 Main Street, Freehold, NJ. The library hours are Monday- Friday 9AM-5PM, closed on weekends.

Frank has 2 oil paintings that he will exhibit in this show: Rose and Carnations and
Maryland B &B No Bar.  

 

Donna Muzzicato has 2 paintings in Freehold Art Society's Group Show June 7th-29th 2014

AAG member, Donna Muzzicato, is also a member of the Freehold Art Society.  Members of the Freehold Art Society are exhibiting their work at the Wainright House- Historical Museum and Craft Center.  The house is located at 28 Main St, Farmingdale, NJ 07727.  The exhibit is free and open to the public.  The hours are Sat 10AM-2PM and Sun 1PM-4PM.  Information 732-938-5432 or www.freeholdartsociety.homestead.com.

Congrats to AAG member Donna Muzzicato

The Freehold Art Society will be having a show on May 3rd, 2014 10 AM-4 PM.   The show will be at The Oakley Farmstead, 89 Wemrock Rd, Freehold NJ 07728.  The theme of the show is "Life in Monmouth".  Donna will be exhibiting 2 paintings: Hibiscus and Bayshore.  The Hibiscus was painted from a flower growing in her garden.



AAG member, Karen Overbye's "Bicameral Mind" is in group show at Art Alliance Gallery

Karen Overbye's, mixed media, Bicameral Mind will be showing at the Art Alliance Gallery, 33 Monmouth Street, Red Bank NJ April 2nd to April 30th, 12-4 Tues-Sat.  Opening April 5th.  The theme of the show was People and the juror was Bruce Waldman.

Excited about the collaboration of Allentown Art Guild (www.allentownartguild.org) and Mill Pond Arts (www.millpondarts.com).  This collaboration between the Allentown Art Guild and The Mill Pond Arts, with its outstanding musical and performing artists, is a merger of common interests and commitment to the Arts.

The opening of the Allentown Art Guild show at Mill Pond Arts will be on Sunday April 13, 2014 12:30-2:30.  Mill Pond hours for Monday to Saturday are 11AM-7 PM.    Looking forward to seeing and making new friends.

Terry Goldstein will have a one person show at Twin Rivers Library March 2014





Congratulations to AAG member Terry Goldstein for his one person show, for the month of March, at the Twin Rivers Library.  The Library is located at 276 Abbington Drive, East Windsor.  The hours are: Mon to Thurs 9:30 AM to 9 PM, Fri and Sat 9:30 AM to 5 PM.  Sun the library is closed.

Terry is a multi-talented artist. He is known for : pen and ink pieces,  pen, ink and watercolor pieces, watercolors and  photography.  Come and enjoy his latest body of work!



Monthly Meeting February 20, 2014

AAG member, Andree Lisette Herz  gave a wonderful demonstration of how she paints with alcohol inks on Yupo paper.  Lisette is a talented artist that has shown her work nationally.  She is a very popular artist that shows locally in Allentown's Copper Frog Gallery.  She is a master of this technique and the images she creates are magical.

Congrats Karen Overbye for a jurors award at the Annual Juried Exhibition of the Art Alliance of Monmouth

The Art Alliance Gallery, at 33 Monmouth St, Redbank NJ, has their 27th Annual Juried Exhibition, opening Saturday Nov 9th (6-9 PM) running through December  1st.  This year's judge was Mark Alan Samaty, artist and author.  His work has been on the cover of the New Yorker.  AAG member Karen Overbye's painting Scorch was selected to be part of this exhibition and she was also given a jurors award.

Scorch was originally created this summer for the RAYS project to Raise Awareness of Your Sun Exposure.  This summer Scorch was on tour of medical centers in Somerset, Morristown and Hunterdon County



Roosevelt Art Project (RAP) -Open Studio Event-Nov 9th and Nov 10th 12 Noon-5 PM

This will be a self guided tour through the many artist studios of Roosevelt.  Tour maps are available on the web at http://music.columbia.edu/roosevelt/  and at the Roosevelt Post Office.  AAG member Lucretia Ellen McGuff Silverman will have her studio, at 10 North Valley Road, open to the tour. October 17, 2013 Al Barker is our guest speaker

New Jersey artist Al Barker will give a demonstration of his landscape painting style.  Mr Barker is known for his water color and oil paintings of nature.  His paintings of marshes, seascapes, and landscapes are wonderful with a characteristic spectacular sky that we in NJ are fortunate enough to personally experience.  He captures the mood and seasons beautifully.

Jane Kandy Lippincott is a retired teacher and internationally known stamp artist.   She will speak and lead a hands on demonstration of making soft cut stamps.   Examples of her work and a limited amount of supplies will be provided to try this interesting method of printing.
